A Quick Recap Of The Crankbait Masterclass & Mastering Lure Painting Offer…..

(Link To Templates At The End 😉 )

Weeks 1 to 4 : NewbieCrankbait Masterclass Project: Zephyr Floater Diver

We’ll start with the basics – tools, timber and other materials, paint, lure design and so on. Everything you need to be able to start your lure making journey on the right foot. That means you’ll be catching fish sooner and you’ll experience none of the frustrations that newbie lure makers usually suffer.

We’ll also get to understand how crankbaits work and how minor design changes can dramatically alter the action of the finished lure. And we’ll make our first simple crankbait so you can test the techniques and practice using a template.

Weeks 5 to 12: Apprentice Lure Maker
Masterclass Project 3: Gale Floating Crankbait

Over the next couple of months we’ll learn to weight crankbaits for proper balance and even for making crankbaits and jerkbaits that suspend (hang in the water without floating or sinking). We’ll learn basic painting techniques and we’ll complete 3 new crankbait projects.

One of the biggest fish magnets in your tackle box is suspending jerkbaits. They’ll pull fish when nothing else gets a look-in, and yet 90% of lure makers don’t have the faintest clue how to make one. That’s fair enough, they can be a little tricky – but not with the techniques I’ll teach you! In my opinion, learning just this one technique is worth the cost of the entire program!

Project 3: A fish catching jerkbait!BONUS: One of the biggest secrets to my success when it comes to getting awesome paint jobs on my lures is having a simple holding and drying system. During month 3 I give my members full details of the lure holding and drying system I use in my workshop for getting ultra high quality finishes on my lures. It’s a cheap and very simple system that is faster and easier to use than anything else you’ll find – take a look at the pics on this page, every lure has been painted using this system!

Weeks 13 to 20: Luremaker Level
crankbait-masterclass-liple

After the first 3 months you’ll be making lures that 90% of experienced lure makers have no clue how to make. You should already be seeing the results in your catches, too. Custom lures of this calibre will make most mass produced lures look like toys. But we’re just getting warmed up!

At the luremaker level we introduce a bunch of new lures like new suspending jerkbaits, jointed and lipless crankbaits. We’ll learn some more advanced finishing techniques too, like basic and textured foil finishes for that flashy, realistic scale appearance. We’ll add rattles to our lures to create noise and vibration and for those who have picked up an airbrush we’ll start using transparent paints.

Weeks 21 to 33: Craftsman LuremakerProject 15: Square Billed crankbait for fishing heavy cover

So many lure makers struggle to make deeper diving crankbaits and many just give up. But they’re actually not so hard to make once you know the secret tricks – and I expose them all in this part of my mentoring program! Now you can make lures for those bigger fish lurk down deep!

But deep divers are just a start. In this part of the program I make the one thing that confuses and confounds more would-be lure makers than anything else stupidly simple. I’m talking about diving lips – and you will know exactly what one to use and how to make it.

Crankbait Masterclass Project 16: Balsa flat-sided crankbait with textured foil finishWe also make a whole bunch of cool lures, including some flat-sided cranks, square bill cranks and others with moving weights that make them cast like a bullet and yet still have a great action! We’ll get onto some different styles of rattles, introduce some new tools, learn to mix and blend paint, create speckles, work with fluorescent paints and even make the cool ghost skeleton foil finish you see in this picture.

Weeks 34 to 46: Master Luremakercrankbait-masterclass-project-22-ultra-silent-crawfish

Now we start to get into seriously cool lures that virtually no-one else even attempts. Wooden rattlebaits, for example in sizes from micro to jumbo. And ultra-silent cranksbaits that are incredibly stealthy and cause agressive reaction strikes. Micro crankbaits, lipless flutterbaits and lures with carved fins and gills are all covered.

rattlebait-masterclassPlus we do some advanced foil finishes, work through various options for creating a hard, durable and extremely beautiful clear coats, learn to paint crawfish patterns and even make steel framed crankbaits.

Weeks 46 to 52: ArtisanProject 28: A hunting wakebait painted with blue flames.

I finish off with some tricky lures and some really cool paint jobs. For example, we take a look at how to design lures specifically for trolling, we make an oversized jerkbait for offshore fishing and a little wakebait with an internal mechanism to encourage it to “hunt”.

In the paint department we have a crack at some more eccentric techniques like painting realistic flames on lures, pumpkin-seed bluegills, frogs, a dolphinfish pattern and a very beautiful crawfish pattern using color shift paints.

And for those that want to turn a lure making hobby into a money making business we look at ways to hand-make lures efficiently as well as strategies for marketing and selling them online.
